Call for Papers
Expressions of Interest Presentations and Posters
All information and documentation should be submitted to email to Elizabeth Halladin by 23rd October, 2009.
This email MUST include:
- Contact details for the author/s, both email and phone. If there is more than one author, please indicate who will be acting as the primary contact person
- An abstract of up to 300 words as an attachment to the email (see Guidelines for Abstracts and Full Papers below)
- An indication as to whether the author/s wishes to present their work as an oral presentation or a poster
- An indication as to whether a full paper will be submitted
- If poster presentation, indicate whether supplementary material (such as handouts etc) will be supplied by presenters
- Confirmation that all authors have registered to attend the conference
Guidelines & Checklist for Abstract & Full Paper
Abstracts:
- Submitted as WORD document
- Submit in Arial font, 11 point font size
- A4 paper size
- 2.5cm margins all round
- Maximum of 300 words
- Title: UPPERCASE, bold and centred. The title should give a clear indication of the subject content. Insert a one-line space after the title.
- Author/s name/s: Insert first name and then surname, bold and centered. Insert one line after the author/s name/s.
- Affiliation: List Department/faculty/school, institute, city, state. Centre text.
- Email address: list email addresse/s. Insert two lines after email addresses.
- Body text: Insert abstract text. Single spaced, with left and right justified text. Insert a one-line space between paragraphs; do not indent the first line of each paragraph.
- Check spelling, content and presentation. It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure accuracy as abstracts and papers will be published as submitted.
Full Papers:
- All guidelines as per Abstracts, plus:
- Include headings such as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
- Headings: Lowercase, bold, left aligned. Recommence text on the line following the heading (do NOT insert a line after the heading)
- The abstract in the full paper should be exactly the same as the abstract submitted when expressing interest in presenting
- Full papers should not exceed 4 pages in length
- No footnotes included throughout paper

Poster Presentation Details
Depending on the topic, posters could include headings such as:
- Title
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
- References
A small area will be provided for printed material (if authors wish to provide this) and presenter seating. Authors must bring their own printed material to the conference.
Poster Setup
Posters presentations must be displayed in the Banquet Hall at the University Club by 08.30, Thursday 26th November, 2009. Committee members will be available between 14.00 – 16.00 on Wednesday 25th November 2009, and 08.00 – 08.30 on Thursday 26th November 2009 to assist with your Poster presentation set up.
Poster Packup
Poster displays must be dismantled by 15.00 Friday 27th November 2009.
Poster Format - Guidelines & Checklist
- Poster size should not exceed A0 size: 841mm x 1189mm. Orientation may be either portrait or landscape
- Poster must be clear laminated
- Poster must be able to be fastened to display boards by either velcro fasteners or push pins
- Presenters available to install and dismantle poster displays at the times listed above

Oral Presentation Details
Oral Presentations will be 25 minutes duration, with a further 5 minutes provided for question time. A changeover period of 5 minutes will allowed between presenters.
PowerPoint presentations must be provided to committee members by 08.30 on the morning of your presentation at the very latest. It is STRONGLY recommended that presenters see committee members before this to confirm that their prepared presentation is compatible with the version of PowerPoint installed in their presentation room (PowerPoint 2003).
Committee members will be available in the presentation areas at the following times to accept presentations and assist with checking:
14.00 – 16.00, Wednesday 25th November 2009
08.00 – 08.30 on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th November 2009
Oral Presentations - Guidelines & Checklist
- Oral presentations must not exceed 25 minutes. Five minutes has been allowed for questions
- Presentation delivered and checked at the nominated times, prior to presenting.
